Terms of Service

Welcome to PollSee. By using the PollSee mobile app and website (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you give us is accurate.

2. Your Account

  • You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure.
  • You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
  • You may have only one account, and you may not use anyone else's account without their permission.
  • You must give your real address. Using a false address to vote, co-sign, or propose in another district is prohibited.
  • To vote, co-sign, or propose, you must verify your identity with your own government ID. You may not verify with someone else's ID or on someone else's behalf.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Post content that is false, misleading, defamatory, threatening, or harassing
  • Impersonate any person, elected official, or organization
  • Use the Service to spam, manipulate votes or signatures, or artificially inflate support
  • Try to access other users' accounts or private data
  • Use bots, scripts, or scrapers to access the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use the Service for anything unlawful

4. Your Content

You keep ownership of what you submit (proposals, comments, and votes). By posting it, you give PollSee a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and use that content to run the Service. This includes sharing it with elected officials as described in our Privacy Policy.

Proposals you publish are public. We may remove content that breaks these Terms or that we decide, at our discretion, is harmful or inappropriate. Proposals also pass an automated review and may be rejected, for example if they fall outside your local government's authority or duplicate a bill that is already moving.

5. Proposals and Elected Officials

PollSee sends reports on what residents support to some elected officials' offices, and lets you message officials directly. We do not guarantee that any official will read, respond to, introduce, or act on a proposal. Only a legislator can formally introduce legislation.

6. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses AI to draft proposals and to summarize bills in plain English. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. It is for general information only and is not legal, policy, or professional advice. Read and approve anything drafted for you before you publish it under your name, and check important details against the official text of a bill.

7. Payments

Using PollSee as a resident is free, including proposing. Some products, such as merchandise and services for organizations, cost money. When you pay, you agree to the price shown at the time of purchase.

Payments are processed by Stripe on the website and by Apple for in-app purchases. Their refund policies apply to purchases made through them.

8. No Endorsement

PollSee does not endorse any candidate, party, or political position. Showing an official, candidate, campaign, or bill on the Service does not mean PollSee endorses it.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, logos, and brand, is owned by PollSee and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of it without our written permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, error-free, or secure.

Information about legislation, elections, and representatives comes from government records and third-party data providers and may not always be current or accurate. Check anything important with the official government source. Forecasts and predictions are estimates, not guarantees.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, PollSee is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service.

12. Termination

We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account) or by contacting us. When your account ends, your right to use the Service ends with it.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make a material change, we will post the updated Terms and change the "Last updated" date. If you keep using the Service after the change, you accept the updated Terms.
